Day 41: Premier Pottery Preston PPP Vase
Photo Caption: Day 41: Today’s piece is by Premier Pottery Preston or simply PPP. Starting production in 1930 the PPP line of wares is the predecessor to the Remued pottery line. Although both lines were produced by the same factory only 3 or 4 years apart they couldn’t be more different!

Day 19: Newtone Art Ware Vase – Shape 142
Photo Caption: Day 19: Today’s piece is by Bakewell Bros from their Newtone Art Ware line circa 1930s. This piece is shape 142 and is one of four I own. I’ll post the other 3 over the coming days to show the different decorating techniques being used at the time by Bakewell Bros. This piece is (for want of a better term) air brushed. I’ll also post a picture of all four side by side which will show just how hand made and individual these commercially produced pieces can be.
I also have to admit that I saw this green giant and immediately thought of my friend Liz @downtoearthvintage not sure if this is the right green for you. If not don’t despair i have a few to come I know you will like!

Day 13: Mashman Bookends
Photo Caption: Day 13: Today’s piece is a pair of pretty rare bookends by Sydney based pottery Mashman Bros from their Regal Art range circa 1930’s. My first purchase of the year and I’m more than chuffed. Thanks to my new best friend Ludo for helping me out.

Day 12: Newtone Jug
Photo Caption: Day 12: Today’s piece is my latest arrival and just happens to be another piece of Newtone. This jug is decorated in a very rare glaze combination and is a shape I’ve never seen before. Circa 1930’s

Day 11: Newtone Vase
Photo Caption: Day 11: Another piece from my favourite pottery. Newtone Art Ware by Bakewells of Erskinville NSW. This is one of the more common shapes but the glaze is quite unusual. Circa 1930’s

Day 8: Newtone Vase
Photo Caption: Day 8: Today’s piece is from a pottery which pretty much started my collecting obsession and is where my IG handle comes from. Produced by Bakewell Bros of Erskinville NSW under their Newtone Art Ware label circa 1935.

Day 1: McHugh Vase
Photo Caption: Day 1: Let’s see if i can keep this up. One day, one piece Australian made pottery from my collection (past or present). I have more than enough pieces to get through the year so lets begin.
Made by McHugh Bros, Launceston Tasmania. This is shape 41 from their range and is dated to the base 1935. Not a rare shape but shows an exceptional glaze combination.
