Day 65: Newtone Art Ware Basket Vase

Day 65: Today's piece is by Bakewell Bros from their Newtone Art Ware line circa 1930s. This piece is a rare Newtone shape and is in fact the only one I've seen before. The thin basket handle almost looks like it would break if you look at it too harshly which is possibly one of the reasons you don't see this shape about. If any collectors out there have one I'd love to see it. #AustralianPottery #AustralianArtPottery #NSWPottery #Pottery #Ceramics #instapottery #AustralianDesign #australianceramics #Newtone #NewtoneArtWare #NewtonePottery #BakewellBros #Bakewells #SydneyCeramics #SydneyPottery #Erskinville #365DaysofAustralianPottery
