Day 20: Newtone Art Ware Vase – Shape 142

Day 20: Today's piece is by Bakewell Bros from their Newtone Art Ware line and is the 2nd shape 142 piece I have. This piece is decorated in what i would refer to as the "standard" drip glaze green and brown. Chances are if you remember seeing a Newtone vase you've seen it in green and brown. #AustralianPottery #AustralianArtPottery #NSWPottery #BakewellBros #Bakewells #NewtonePottery #NewtoneArtWare #Newtone #australianceramics #Ceramics #Pottery #instapottery #365DaysofAustralianPottery #sydneyceramics #SydneyPottery #Erskinville

Day 19: Newtone Art Ware Vase – Shape 142

Day 19: Today's piece is by Bakewell Bros from their Newtone Art Ware line circa 1930s. This piece is shape 143 and is one of four I own. I'll post the other 3 over the coming days to show the different decorating techniques being used at the time by Bakewell Bros. This piece is (for want of a better term) air brushed. I'll also post a picture of all four side by side which will show just how hand made and individual these commercially produced pieces can be. I also have to admit that I saw this green giant and immediately thought of my friend Liz @downtoearthvintage not sure if this is the right green for you. If not don't despair i have a few to come I know you will like! #AustralianPottery #AustralianArtPottery #NSWPottery #BakewellBros #Newtone #Bakewells #NewtonePottery #NewtoneArtWare #Art #Design #ArtDeco #australianceramics #Ceramics #Pottery #instapottery #365DaysofAustralianPottery

Day 17: Rynne Tanton Vase

Day 17: Today's piece is by Tasmanian potter Rynne Tanton. You know you have too many pieces when you forget you have a beauty like this. I only rediscovered it while looking through some old boxes and thought it deserved to see the light of day once more. #AustralianPottery #AustralianArtPottery #australianceramics #TasmanianPottery #RynneTanton #Pottery #Ceramics #AustralianDesign #instapottery #365DaysofAustralianPottery

Day 16: Trent Art Ware Vase

Day 16: Today's piece is by Bakewells of Erskinville NSW under their Trent Art Ware label which was nothing more than a rebranding of the Newtone line of wares after WWII. This exact shape in this exact colouring would have been produced in the Newtone range some 10 years earlier. Circa mid to late 1940's. #AustralianPottery #NSWPottery #Pottery #Ceramics #instapottery #AustralianDesign #AustralianArt #AustralianArtPottery #sydneyceramics #NSWCeramics #Newtone #NewtonePottery #TrentArtWare #BakewellBros #Bakewells #365DaysofAustralianPottery

Day 15: Eileen Brooker Milk Jug

Day 15: Today's piece is by iconic Tasmanian potter Eileen Brooker. This small milk jug features a hand painted image of what I think is a Fairy Wren. Day 11: Newtone Vase

Day 11: Another piece from my favourite pottery. Newtone Art Ware by Bakewells of Erskinville NSW. This is one of the more common shapes but the glaze is quite unusual.
